1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the My Chores application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and My Chores.

2. Description of Service

My Chores is a family chore and allowance management application that enables parents to assign chores, track completion, manage virtual allowances, and teach children about financial responsibility. The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified or updated at any time.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

  • Create an account with accurate and complete information
  • Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Parents or guardians are responsible for creating and managing accounts for their children. Children may only use the Service under the supervision and consent of their parent or guardian.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Collect or harvest personal information about other users
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission

5. Virtual Currency and Allowances

The allowance and savings features within My Chores represent virtual tracking tools only. They do not constitute real currency, bank accounts, or financial products. My Chores does not handle, store, or transfer actual money. Parents are solely responsible for providing any real-world allowance payments to their children outside of the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by My Chores and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (such as chore names and descriptions). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of such third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and policies.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MY CHORES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless My Chores and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may also delete your account at any time through the Service settings.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which My Chores operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
